Phys. Rev. D 33, 2121–2135 (1986)Finite-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-scalar field systemReceived 23 December 1985; published in the issue dated 15 April 1986 The finite-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-scalar field system, characterized by a spatially homogeneous or spatially self-similar gravitational field, is approached from a group-theoretical point of view. The field equations are expressed as a parametrized finite-dimensional mechanical system whose singularity behavior is readily apparent, using a method which allows one to consider all possible symmetry types simultaneously. © 1986 The American Physical Society URL:
