Phys. Rev. D 44, 424–428 (1991)Gravitating topological matter in 2+1 dimensionsReceived 25 February 1991; published in the issue dated 15 July 1991 We study topological matter minimally coupled to gravity in 2+1 dimensions. We show that the resulting system has a finite-dimensional physical phase space that can be exactly quantized. The model exhibits the mixing of "gravity" and "matter" degrees of freedom, and the impossibility of treating them independently. © 1991 The American Physical Society URL:
