Phys. Rev. D 50, 841–845 (1994)Instabilities of the Cauchy horizon in Kerr black holesReceived 4 November 1993; published in the issue dated 15 July 1994 A previously developed Cauchy horizon stability conjecture is used to investigate the stability of the Cauchy horizon in the Kerr geometry when various fields are introduced. In particular, the effects of an electromagnetic field, infalling null dust, and combined infalling and outgoing null dust are studied. Stability predictions are made and in one case verified. The nature of any resulting singularities is predicted. © 1994 The American Physical Society URL:
