We consider the contribution of a heavy fourth generation to the ρ parameter. We show that recent claims of a large negative contribution to δρ from a hypothetical heavy fourth family are not well founded. We discuss certain difficulties in the application of dispersion relations to the calculation of δρ and how these give rise to uncertainties in both the magnitude and the sign of δρ.
