D 58, 044001 (1998) [3 pages]Sources for the Majumdar-Papapetrou space-timesReceived 26 January 1998; published 26 June 1998 Einstein’s field equations are solved exactly for static charged dust distributions. These solutions generalize the Majumdar-Papapetrou metrics. Maxwell’s equations lead to the equality of charge and mass densities of the dust distrubition.
