D 65, 084013 (2002) [4 pages]Nested braneworlds and strong brane gravityReceived 30 May 2001; revised 4 September 2001; published 25 March 2002 We find the gravitational field of a “nested” domain wall living entirely within a brane-universe, or, a localized vortex within a wall. Using two illustrative examples, a vortex living on a critical Randall-Sundrum brane universe and a nested Randall-Sundrum scenario, we show that the induced gravitational field on the brane is identical to that of an (n-1)-dimensional Einstein domain wall. We comment on the absence of any “nonconventional” interactions and the definition of the braneworld Newton constant. © 2002 The American Physical Society URL:
