Phys. Rev. D 65, 084018 (2002) [7 pages]Brane world cosmology with Gauss-Bonnet interactionReceived 18 October 2001; published 29 March 2002 We study a Randall-Sundrum model modified by a Gauss-Bonnet interaction term. We consider, in particular, a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric on the brane and analyze the resulting cosmological scenario. It is shown that the usual Friedmann equations are recovered on the brane. The equation of state relating the energy density and the pressure is uniquely determined by the matching conditions. A cosmological solution with negative pressure is found. © 2002 The American Physical Society URL:
